Buy More Time FAQ
You can buy six months of additional time to complete your HealthyWager. You will pay an additional six months’ worth of your original monthly wager amount, and your end date (and weigh-out period) will be moved forward six months. Your prize amount will not change and you will not recoup the additional fee (even if you win).
How do I buy more time?
You can find the link to buy more time by logging into your dashboard on the website and app. Then just click on the “Buy More Time” link.
Are there any deadlines around when I can buy more time?
The option to buy more time will be available on your dashboard throughout your challenge, up to and including the end date.
I only need to lose a few more pounds. Can I buy less time?
No, you cannot buy less time. The “buy more time” option is only available in six-month increments.
How much does it cost to buy more time?
Buying more time will add an extra six months’ worth of your original wager amount onto your HealthyWager. Example: if your original wager was $50 per month for 12 months, and you buy more time, you will owe an additional $300 (or $50 x 6 monthly installments). Example: if your original wager was $30 per month for 9 months, you will owe an additional $180 (or $30 x 6 monthly installments).
How will buying more time affect my prize?
Your prize (i.e., the amount HealthyWage will pay you if you win) does not change in any way when you buy more time. If you win, the amount HealthyWage will pay you will be exactly the same as the amount you would have won without buying more time (you will not recoup the additional fee you pay to buy more time, even if you win).
How do I pay for the additional time that I buy?
You can choose to pay in installments or all at once. The “buy more time” payment process depends upon how you originally set up payments for your initial wager.
If you originally paid in installments and want to pay for “buy more time” in installments, you will be charged your first "buy more time" installment one month after the last of your original installments. If your installments have already ended, your first new installment happens at the moment you buy more time.
Alternately, if you originally paid in installments and want to pay for “buy more time” all at once, your payment happens at the moment you buy more time.
If you originally paid all at once and want to pay for “buy more time” in installments, your first new installment comes out at the moment you buy more time.
However, if you originally paid all at once and want to pay for “buy more time” all at once, your payment happens at the moment you buy more time.
If I buy more time, do I need to submit any additional verified weigh-ins?
No, you do not need to submit any additional verified weigh-ins. You will only need to submit your final verified weigh-in during your new weigh-out window.
I already bought more time once. Can I buy more time again?
Yes, you may buy more time again. But remember that your original prize will not change and you will not recoup the additional fee(s) you pay to buy more time, even if you win.
