HealthyWager participants are encouraged to invite Lifelines to walk alongside them during their weight loss journey. Lifelines provide support, encouragement and motivation.

For HealthyWager Participants
What are Lifelines?
Part of the HealthyWager approach is using social support to be successful. Choose who you want to support you through your life-changing journey. We recommend that you invite 3 Lifelines to begin. You might want to invite the following types of people to be your Lifelines:
- Your spouse, mom, dad or best friend.
- Your brother, sister or college roommate.
- Your trainer, workout buddy or healthiest friend.
You can also invite other HealthyWager participants to act as your Lifelines.
How do I invite Lifelines?
When you are signed in to your HealthyWager dashboard, you’ll just need to navigate to the “Settings” section. From there, select “Lifelines” and then “Invite More Lifelines.” You can invite potential Lifelines via direct email, via native share (on any of the selectable apps on your phone) or by copying and pasting your invite link.
Are Lifelines required?
No ... but HealthyWagers with Lifelines are more likely to win. So, why wouldn't you do it?
How many Lifelines can I have?
As many as you want! We recommend having at least 5 Lifelines.
What will my Lifelines see?
First and foremost - your Lifelines WILL NOT see your weight. That is private and confidential.
Your Lifeline WILL see:
- Your weight loss
- Your prize and wager amount
- Updates when you post a new photo
- Your start and end dates
- Updates when you reach a weight loss milestone
- Your food plan
- The time elapsed in your challenge
What if I’m embarrassed?
That's OK! Asking for support is really hard, but remember your friends and family WANT to support you on this life-changing journey! We won't ask them to do anything they wouldn't normally do IRL (In Real Life).
Why are Lifelines important?
Lifelines help you win! Your Lifelines' support during your weight loss journey will increase your chances of winning.
What does my Lifeline have to do?
We want to make it as easy as possible for your Lifelines to support you. After you invite them, they’ll just need to sign up for a FREE HealthyWage account. Then they’ll provide you with the same support they would in real life while watching you change your life and win huge cash prizes.
How will HealthyWage communicate with my Lifelines?
Lifelines can customize their notifications, but to start we will let them know when you weigh-in and post in the Chat Room.
How do I accept a Lifeline invitation from another HealthyWager participant?
From within the HealthyWage App, navigate to the Settings menu and select “Lifelines” and then “Received Requests.” You can also click on the Lifeline request notification.
From the web, you can accept Lifeline requests directly from the status message on your dashboard.
For Lifelines (Non-HealthyWage Participants)
What is a Lifeline?
In HealthyWage-speak, a Lifeline is someone who supports a HealthyWager participant during their weight loss journey. Lifelines provide encouragement and motivation, just like they would in real life.
Why is this important?
Lifelines help HealthyWagers win! Your friend is putting money on the line in a serious bid to achieve life-changing weight loss. Your service and support are important!
What do I have to do?
Give your friend the serious support that they need to achieve this life-changing goal. That’s it! Your job as a Lifeline is primarily to be there for your friend. You’ll get notified when they weigh-in and post photos so that you can cheer them on. Lifelines are REALLY important in helping HealthyWagers reach their life-changing goal.
Do I have to pay anything?
No! It's completely free for you to sign up and support your friend during his or her journey.
Can I join a challenge too?
We brought you here to support your friends, but if you wanted to join them ask for a referral. You'll get $40 added to your prize, and so will they.
How will HealthyWage communicate with me?
You can customize your notifications but to start we will update you when your friend weighs-in and posts in the chat room.
How do I sign up as a Lifeline?
It’s completely free to accept your invitation and sign up as a Lifeline. To get started, follow these steps:
- Receive a Lifeline link or email from your friend
- Click the link or button in the email
- Click the “Yes, I’ll help” button on the landing page
- Enter an email address and password
- Complete the registration
