Motivation Ace #5
It's week 5 and we're cruising through this challenge! Right about now your initial motivation and excitement might be starting to wind down just a little, and we're here to tell you - that's ok!
The Truth: Motivation for weight loss (or for anything, really) comes and goes like a wave. It's normal and expected, and you're not alone if you're feeling less-than-motivated right now or anytime through this process! When was the last time your motivation to do something, even something you really wanted, remained high throughout the entire process? You probably really wanted to graduate from college. How motivated did you feel at 2 AM when you were finishing your mid-term paper?
A lot of people quit on their weight loss and cite a "lack of motivation" as their reason. Excuse alert! We do things all the time we don't feel motivated to do (you got to work this morning, right?). And most of the time, when we do those things anyway, we're successful in the end.
Next time your motivation is low to eat right, be more active, or to plan or prepare ahead of time, do the right thing anyway. Motivation is nice when it's around, but it is not a requirement for success. If you think it is, then you're probably looking for an excuse to quit. Make a decision right now not to do that!
With time, your consistency will pay off, and you'll find your motivation will circle back around.
Tell us what you "did anyway" this week!
